Minecraft: Java edition for LINUX



This should install all required dependencies needed for Debian based distributions such as Ubuntu. If your system doesn't have a graphical installer for packages, you can install the package from the terminal like this:



apt-get install Minecraft.deb



On Arch and Arch distributions, the package is available as minecraft-launcher from the AUR. AUR is a community repository for packages. You can find out more information about how to use it on the Arch Wiki.

* You'll need an Internet connection the first time you start an online game however, after that you can play offline without any issues.



On other distributions you can download raw launcher files as an archive, then extract them somewhere and run them in any way that you find convenient (from an application like a terminal, making a shortcut, etc.). You'll require Java and a few dependencies, the majority of which should be present on common Linux desktops.
